Google announced today that they will be launching a new SERP layout that plans on shaking things up.

Although Google is being very tight lipped about the change internally, they have let partners know that they will no longer be showing right side Ads, on Desktop or Tablet Search Result pages.

This news will have a HUGE impact on both SEO and SEM results since this will no doubt increase bids on the SEM front, and will make first page ranking even more sought after in the SEO world. For popular Search Terms Google is planning on showing 4 top paid ads instead of three.

Google has stressed that this change will only effect desktop and tablet result pages, and it’s geared at a better user experience.  As more information on this change becomes available we’ll be sure to keep you informed.
